CD Acero of Puerto de Sagunto drew 1-1 with Eldense B on 17 October and are unbeaten in six matchdays, with only one win.

Eight points from seven matchdays and ninth place in Group 6 of Tercera Federación: that is where CD Acero stand after the 1-1 draw with Eldense B on Saturday 17 October 2026. The Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district) side have not lost since the opening matchday, but they cannot turn that consistency into wins.

The game was played at El Fornàs, the stadium where Acero play their home matches in Puerto de Sagunto. It turned against the hosts in the 34th minute, when Nico Ruiz put Eldense B ahead. The equaliser came in the 69th minute from a penalty converted by Fer Cano. There were no more goals, so the scoreline matched the previous three games.

It is the fourth 1-1 in a row. Español de San Vicente, Athletic Club Torrellano and Atzeneta UE had all drawn 1-1 with Acero before, in that order. Of seven league matches, five have finished 1-1. Only the 0-1 defeat to Crevillente on the first matchday and the 2-0 win over Torrevieja break the pattern.

The last four draws each followed a different script. Against Español and Atzeneta, Acero took the lead and saw it cancelled out; against Torrellano and Eldense B they had to draw after going behind.

Golsmedia reported on 29 September 2026 how the first of those four draws unfolded, against Español de San Vicente: Iván Royo put Acero ahead in the 28th minute, Precious Major equalised for the home side in the 73rd, and the home captain was sent off in the 90th.

For the fan, the sums are simple: five draws add up to five points and the single win to three, hence eight. Acero and Atzeneta are the teams with the most draws in Group 6. Rubén Furió's side has lost only one of seven matches since returning to the division and is unbeaten in six consecutive matchdays.

The return has a sporting reason: Acero finished the 2025-26 season first in the Lliga Comunitat Norte, a group of 16 teams, which is why they play in Group 6 of Tercera Federación in 2026-27. The club, founded in 1919 and presented on its official website as a symbol of Puerto de Sagunto, has not always had this name: it was Sporting Club Canet from 1919 to 1932, Sporting Club Puerto Sagunto until 1940, and took the name Club Deportivo Acero that year, after the Civil War, when the use of foreign languages was banned.

The next test is the trip to Torrent CF. If Acero do not lose there, that will make seven unbeaten matchdays, and any score other than 1-1 would end the run of identical draws.
