Crit's Pobres and Tardor live in Sagunto: theatre on 23 October, concert on 24 October
Sagunto's cultural programme this week offers the comedy Pobres on Friday 23 October and a concert by Tardor on Saturday 24 October, with tickets at 7 and 9 euros.
This week's cultural programme in Sagunto includes two ticketed shows, both organised by the Culture Department of Sagunto City Council: a comedy in Valencian on Friday 23 October and a pop-rock concert on Saturday 24 October. Tickets for both are sold online through the Servientradas website, at 7 and 9 euros respectively.
On Friday at 20:30, the company Crit stages Pobres at the Casa Municipal de Cultura (municipal arts centre). The performance lasts 75 minutes, is in Valencian and is suitable for all audiences. At 7 euros, it is the cheapest option of the week. The production starts from one idea: behind the stereotypes and prejudices we use to classify other people lies a complex, contradictory and bittersweet humanity. Crit explores it through comedy, because it believes laughter is the best way to entertain an audience and reach it.
The play has already been seen on Valencian stages. According to valencianews.es, which reported on 1 October 2025, Pobres premiered at the Teatre Rialto in València, where it ran from 2 to 5 October. It grew out of a collaboration between Crit and the Italian company Montalto & Lobrutto, combining Sicilian and Valencian theatre traditions. Anna Marí directs and wrote it with Daniel Tormo and Graziana Lo Brutto; the three authors and Marcello Montalto make up the cast. It came after the success of La Corporació.
On Saturday 24 at 20:00, the Centro Cultural Mario Monreal (cultural centre) hosts Tardor. The concert is pop-rock, lasts 90 minutes and tickets cost 9 euros. Tardor sings in Valencian, comes from València and l'Horta, and plays alternative pop-rock and indie. The band formed in 2010 and its discography up to 2021 totals five albums: Revolució de l'estat latent (2012), Una ciutat invisible (2014), Patraix (2017), El Mal Pas (2019) and Veta (2021).
The set will include songs such as Hi havia una ciutat, released in September 2025 and included on the album La vida com un joc. With it the band returned to music after saying goodbye in November 2023 in front of a completely full Sala Moon, as valenciaplaza.com recalled. It presented the song on 22 September 2025 as a reflection on gentrification and on the loss of the essence of city neighbourhoods.
Besides these two events, three exhibitions remain open in municipal venues. The Casa Municipal de Cultura hosts El valor de lo cotidiano (The Value of the Everyday), by the Ateneo del Puerto, until 30 October, a week after Pobres. The Centro Cultural Mario Monreal keeps Pinturas exóticas para corazones noctámbulos (Exotic Paintings for Nocturnal Hearts), by Darío Oltra, until 31 October. And the Centro Cívico Antiguo Sanatorio (civic centre) shows the exhibition marking the 75th anniversary of Fertiberia BM Puerto Sagunto until 12 November, the one that stays open longest.
