Sagunto draws line between nudism and indecent exposure after Almardà dispute

Beaches councillor Roberto Rovira responded to residents' complaints about sexual conduct at the nudist beach in Almardà and guaranteed that the local police will act against any illegal behaviour.

The response follows complaints from the Almardà Viva residents' association, which had reported sexual and exhibitionist behaviour on the nudist stretch of the beach, known locally as the Malvarrosa. Rovira argued that nudism is a legal practice that should not be confused with indecent exposure, since the two are distinguished by intent: social nudism carries no sexual connotation, while indecent exposure specifically seeks sexual gratification or to shock others.

The councillor stressed that the city council maintains zero tolerance for any behaviour that disrupts coexistence and noted that local police will step in whenever there are signs of an infraction or crime. On residents' request to better mark out the nudist zone, he explained that the beach already has traditional signage and that new signs have recently been added at the entrances, so beachgoers know in advance where they are. The goal, he said, is to ensure coexistence between people who practise nudism and those who don't. According to El Periódico de Aquí. Additional data: Wikipedia.
