Sagunto trains Itineraris programme users to save energy at home
The Social Services Department and the Naturgy Foundation are running practical workshops this July on energy saving and home safety for participants in the Itineraris d'Inclusió Social programme, funded by the European Union.
The sessions take place at the Los Claveles Social Centre in Puerto de Sagunto (the coastal district) and at the Casal Jove youth centre in Sagunto, in ninety-minute sessions for groups of ten people. They are aimed at people referred from the Itineraris programme, which is financed by the EU through the 2021-2027 Valencian Community European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), and cover practical energy-saving tips along with home safety and prevention advice.
The Naturgy Foundation, founded in 1992, focuses its social work on fighting energy poverty through a solidarity fund for home retrofits, an energy school and a volunteer programme — work that now translates into direct training for vulnerable Sagunto residents.
The initiative aims to give participating families practical tools to cut household spending and improve home safety, at a time of high energy prices. According to aytosagunto.es and elperiodic.com.
