Atlético Saguntino's top scorer Adama Sangare joins champions Castellonense
UD Castellonense have signed Malian striker Adama Sangare, 26, who finished last season as Atlético Saguntino's leading scorer, to bolster their attack ahead of their debut in Segunda Federación (Spain's fourth tier).
Sangare made 27 appearances for Saguntino in 2025-26, clocking 1,890 minutes and netting 10 goals to become the most decisive player in Guillem Beltrán's side. He had arrived from CD Soneja, where he had already been part of a promotion campaign and a Copa Nostra triumph. His pace, directness and finishing ability were immediately apparent at Camp Nou de Morvedre — the 2,000-capacity stadium opened in 1977 by Atlético Saguntino, a club founded back in 1922 — where the team finished second in Group VI of Tercera Federación.
Saguntino reached the promotion play-off but were knocked out by CF La Nucía (a 3-1 home defeat followed by a 1-0 away win that was not enough). In that same Group VI, UD Castellonense — established in 1946 in Villanueva de Castellón, Valencia province — won the title and secured direct promotion to Segunda Federación for the first time in their history. Sangare now joins the club that edged his former team to the title. According to Golsmedia.
