BM Morvedre bids farewell to veteran handball player Rebeca after years of service
Handball club BM Morvedre has said an emotional goodbye to Rebeca, a long-serving player who ends her time at the Sagunto-based club after years of dedication on and off the court.
In a social media post, BM Morvedre marked the end of Rebeca's time at the club, paying tribute to her contribution to the team project and the mark she left on the squad and in competition. The farewell comes at a high point for the Sagunto club: founded in June 2012, the team has competed since the 2024-25 season in the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola — the top flight of women's handball in Spain. The club also holds a historic record: in 2017-18, they went 31 consecutive matches unbeaten to win the División de Honor Plata (second division), without losing a single game throughout that entire season in the national elite. Farewells like Rebeca's highlight the human story behind a club that has become a benchmark for women's sport in the Camp de Morvedre district. According to the club's official Facebook post, Rebeca «will always be Morvedre».
