Al Crepuscle festival returns to Grau Vell fort from 18 to 21 June

The fifth edition of the Al Crepuscle theatre festival brings six plays, music and poetry to the Fortín del Grau Vell (historic coastal fortification) in Sagunto, with free admission on prior booking.

Hongaresa Teatre and Sagunto's Culture Department announced on Monday the return of Al Crepuscle for its fifth edition, running 18–21 June at the Fortín del Grau Vell. The line-up includes six plays across different genres — with Argentine companies and a German guitarist — plus a guitar and poetry recital. Admission is free, but seats must be reserved at servientradas.com.

The festival's defining trait is its schedule: every performance begins at dusk, harnessing that brief transitional light cinematographers call the «magic hour» to heighten the open-air theatrical effect. The opening night on 18 June features «Guitarra al Crepuscle» with Reinhold Bohrer and playwright Lola López; Sunday's closing piece is a co-production by Artimañas Teatro and Hongaresa Teatre.

In May 2026 the venue completed a full musealisation: five thematically distinct rooms were fitted out for the public, co-funded through the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination (Next Generation EU). The festival thereby becomes the first major cultural event held at the Fortín del Grau Vell after its renovation.
