DiversFest brings LGBTIQ+ pride and live music to Benifairó de les Valls
Hundreds gathered in Benifairó de les Valls on 13 June for the DiversFest 'Sense por de ser' festival, organised by Nou Splay, blending live music with a message of equality.
The town of Benifairó de les Valls, in the Camp de Morvedre district, hosted the DiversFest 'Sense por de ser' (Without Fear of Being) on Friday 13 June. The event, organised by Nou Splay (a local cultural association) with backing from the local council, drew hundreds of residents and visitors from across the comarca and has become one of the most significant cultural gatherings in the area's annual calendar.
The line-up included the White Queen Tribute Band from Italy, a Latin Cover Project trio with Cuban roots, and several artists from Valencia's queer scene: La VillaEscusa, Liz Dust, Canalla Montiel, Tavi Gallart and Adib, a finalist on the Spanish TV singing competition La Voz.
Beyond the performances, the festival emphasised the ongoing need for real equality for the LGBTIQ+ community, offering families, young people and older residents of the Vall de Segó a shared space free from discrimination. According to elperiodicodeaqui.com, the public response showed that Camp de Morvedre firmly supports inclusive coexistence.
