Sagunto steps up beach cleaning and maintenance for the summer season
From 15 June, municipal company SAG is intensifying cleaning, disinfection and waste collection at Puerto de Sagunto and Almardà beaches.
As the summer season gets under way, SAG — Sagunto's municipal environmental services company — is expanding its beach operations. The service steps up daily work on boardwalks and the seafront promenade, with eight workers handling manual sand cleaning each morning shift. Litter bins will be emptied up to three times a day depending on visitor numbers, and mechanical night cleaning is added for busy periods. As a practical addition, a mobile Ecoparque (recycling drop-off point) will rotate weekly between Almardà — on Mondays — and Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district) — on Fridays — so residents can deposit bulky or special waste. Foot-wash stations will receive disinfection three times a week. The aim is to keep all municipal beaches in excellent condition throughout the summer, according to Sagunto City Council.
