Splash 2026 comic festival reveals poster: a sea-inspired image by Sagunto artists
Sagunto artists Elena Uriel and Sento Llobell have designed the poster for the 13th edition of the Splash Festival, the Valencian Community's comic arts event, taking place 20–22 November in Puerto de Sagunto.
The Splash 2026 poster was unveiled at Sagunto City Hall, with Mayor Darío Moreno and Youth Councillor Roberto Rovira in attendance. The illustration by Uriel and Llobell centres on the Puerto de Sagunto pier, with the Mediterranean Sea and hope — the edition's theme — as its main motifs. Uriel described their goal as creating an image with an auditory quality: viewers should feel they can hear the sound of waves just by looking at it. The Splash is organised by the Youth Department together with the IVAJ (Institut Valencià de la Joventut), an autonomous body of the Valencian Government created in 1989 to coordinate youth policy across the region. Over 13 editions it has become a leading event for comics and graphic novels in the Valencian Community. Admission is free; the programme includes exhibitions, workshops, live music and an awards ceremony. Llobell is also known for designing the giant Gulliver figure in Valencia's Gulliver Park.
