Sagunto Conservatory Closes Academic Year with Free Concert on 15 June
The Joaquín Rodrigo Professional Music Conservatory in Sagunto will hold its end-of-year concert for the 2025-2026 academic year on Sunday 15 June at 19:00 at the Joaquín Rodrigo Auditorium.
The evening will feature three ensembles: the Wind Band, the Big Band, and the Orchestra. The Wind Band — conducted by Rafael Doménech Pérez, Juan Ignacio Linares, and Beatriu and Llibertat Mas Sempere — opens with works by José Padilla, Hans Zimmer and David Rivas. The Big Band, led by Francisco Garfella Ayete, follows with pieces by Sammy Nestico and Gordon Goodwin, featuring soloists Saúl Ordóñez de Prado and Jorge Martí Lozano. The Orchestra, conducted by Francisco Hernández Forriol and María Camáñez Navarro, closes the programme with works by Peter Warlock, Jules Massenet, Richard Strauss, W.A. Mozart and Richard Meyer. The conservatory is named after Sagunto-born composer Joaquín Rodrigo (1901–1999), who lost his sight at age three due to diphtheria and is best known for the Concierto de Aranjuez.
