Sagunto City Council has welcomed the staff who will run accessible beach points at Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district) and Almardà this summer, with daily service from 10:00 to 19:00 starting 13 June.

Councillor Roberto Rovira chaired a Friday induction session for the team that will cover the accessible beach points throughout the swimming season at Puerto de Sagunto and Almardà. Training focused on supporting people with functional diversity — a term recognised since 2005 as a non-excluding alternative to 'disability' — along with the internal protocols at each point.

The Equality delegation and Sol Zaballos, president of the local association Discamp, also took part in the day. The service will operate without interruption from 10:00 to 19:00 across all 80 days between 13 June and 31 August, including weekends and public holidays. Each point is equipped with specialised gear to allow people with reduced mobility to reach the water independently, rounding out a coastline committed to beaches that are truly open to everyone. According to Sagunto City Council.
