Sagunto boosts beach cleaning for summer with 8 extra workers
From 15 June, the SAG municipal company deployed a reinforced summer beach-cleaning service in Sagunto, adding eight extra staff, a night-time mechanical sand cleaner and daily bin emptying.
As the swimming season begins, SAG (Sociedad Anónima de Gestión de Sagunt — the town's municipal services company) has expanded its staffing and equipment on the coast. The most visible change: eight additional workers operating every day from 06:00 to 09:00 so that beaches are clean at sunrise. A mechanical beach cleaner also operates five nights a week between 23:00 and 07:00, removing waste without disrupting daytime bathers.
Sagunto has four beaches — Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district), Almardà, Corinto and Malvarrosa — all of them also served by 11 Policía Local beach officers with quad bikes, off-road vehicles and a patrol boat from 15 June to 6 September.
For waste management, the ecomóvil recycling vehicle runs daily across Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto. The Consorcio Palancia Belcaire (the comarca's waste authority) adds two extra stops in the beach area: Almardà on Mondays and La Pinada on Tuesdays, from 09:00 to 14:00 and again from 15:00 to 17:00. According to El Periódico de Aquí, the full service will remain active throughout the summer.
