Compromís per Sagunt will present the Premis Carxata for the first time on 30 October at the Centre Cultural Mario Monreal, within the Nit Estellés, with Joan Baldoví attending.

Compromís per Sagunt (the local branch of the Valencian left-wing coalition) is launching a new event in its calendar this month: the Premis Carxata, which will recognise people, organisations and projects from Sagunto and the rest of the Valencian territory for their commitment to society, culture and Valencian identity.

The first edition will take place on 30 October at the Centre Cultural Mario Monreal and will be part of the Nit Estellés, the evening dedicated to remembering the poet Vicent Andrés Estellés and his work. The party has not yet revealed who will receive the first awards and will announce the names and other details of the gala later. Estellés was born in Burjassot on 4 September 1924 and died in Valencia on 27 March 1993; 'Llibre de meravelles' (1971) is his best-known and most reissued work, according to Wikipedia.

Compromís explains that the initiative is meant to continue in future years and takes advantage of a month with symbolic weight for the party, because of 9 d'Octubre (Valencian Community Day) and the Nit Estellés. The spokesperson for Compromís per Sagunt, Albert Oliver, says this year's edition will be special as it is the awards' debut, and defines the aim as recognising the involvement of organisations and people from Sagunto and the whole territory. He adds that they want to start a tradition of their own in the group for this month.

The name aims for a local touch. The party chose 'carxata', a word closely tied to Sagunto, to name awards meant to highlight initiatives linked to Valencian identity and to improving society.

The gala will be attended by Compromís's síndic (parliamentary group leader) in Les Corts, Joan Baldoví. The party has also announced the presence of representatives from Les Corts Valencianes and the Diputación, as well as other groups. The celebration will be open to the public, and the names of the first winners will be released in the coming weeks, before the 30 October date.

The Nit Estellés was already a Compromís fixture in Sagunto. As elperiodic.com reported on 31 October 2025, that year's edition was held in the arcaded courtyard of the Mercat de Sagunt, with public poetry readings and a concert by singer-songwriter Eva Gómez, from Almenara. The 2026 evening, the first with the Premis Carxata, will take place at the Centre Cultural Mario Monreal.
