Atlético Saguntino to open Tercera Federación season against Atlético Levante
The Valencian Football Federation has released the 2026/27 fixture list for Group VI of Tercera Federación (Spain's fifth tier), which kicks off on 6 September with Atlético Saguntino hosting Atlético Levante.
The Valencian Football Federation has published the fixture list for Group VI of Tercera Federación (the fifth tier of Spanish football) for the 2026/27 season, the division in which Atlético Saguntino will try, this time, to complete the promotion to Segunda Federación after falling just short last season. The competition starts on the weekend of 6 September and runs until 9 May, with a total of 34 matchdays split into two rounds among the 18 participating teams.
The very first matchday brings together Atlético Saguntino and Atlético Levante, Levante's reserve team, at the Nou Camp de Morvedre stadium. It is no ordinary fixture: both sides took part in last season's promotion play-off to Segunda Federación, with Saguntino finishing second in the regular league phase on 66 points, one point ahead of the Valencian reserve side, which finished third on 65. Neither club ultimately achieved promotion, so this reunion from matchday one arrives with a sense of revenge in the air.
Group VI also welcomes three newly promoted sides who will make their debut in the category: CD Acero, champions of the Lliga Comunitat's Nord group, who open at home against Crevillente Deportivo at their El Fornás ground; CD Eldense B, who host Athletic Club Torrellano; and SC Torrevieja CF, who travel to Alicante to face Hércules CF B. Meanwhile, Torrent CF return to Tercera Federación after three seasons in Segunda Federación, and will start at home against CD Español de San Vicente.
The first half of the season ends on 10 January 2027, with the second half starting just a week later, repeating the same pairings with home and away swapped. Exact kick-off times for each match are still to be confirmed by the federation and the clubs in the coming weeks.
For Saguntino fans, the club goes into the new season with a history dating back to 1922, when it was formed from the merger of the Sagunto C.D. and Cova Club teams, and with a squad that, according to sources close to the club, remains largely unchanged after last season's strong campaign, a factor fuelling hopes of fighting for promotion again from the very first matchday.
