Sagunto rolls out 'Recycle for the Climate' campaign on local beaches this summer
Ecoembes' 'Recycle for the Climate' campaign, run with Sagunto's Environment Department, will set up information tents at beach access points in Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district), Almardà and Corinto over five days this summer.
A team of environmental educators will staff the tents to explain to swimmers and passers-by how to sort waste correctly, and what happens when light packaging ends up washed into the sea. The campaign is part of Mirada Circular, a regional environmental education programme run by the Valencian Community. It will visit five locations before 7 August: 27 July at the Puerto de Sagunto seafront (Plaza de la Concordia access), 28 July at Almardà beach (Calle Piscis access), 4 August again at the Puerto de Sagunto seafront (Cocoa access), 6 August at Almardà beach (Calle Tauro access, next to the lifeguard post), and 7 August at Corinto beach (Avenida Corinto access). Each session runs from 9:00 to 12:00, a time slot chosen to avoid the hottest hours of the day. The campaign is organised by Ecoembes, a Spanish non-profit founded in 1997 that coordinates recycling and eco-design of household, commercial and industrial packaging across the country.
