National Police arrest suspected shooter after Sagunto road row
The suspect, accused of attempted homicide, allegedly shot at another driver during a traffic argument on 14 July in Sagunto.
What began as a minor clash between a car and a motorcycle ended in a shooting and, days later, with the alleged shooter behind bars. Spain's National Police confirmed the arrest of a man on charges of attempted homicide and illegal possession of a firearm, in connection with an incident that took place on 14 July in the town. According to the police account, the clash started over a simple traffic dispute but escalated until, investigators say, the motorcyclist pulled out a gun and fired at the other driver's car, hitting the right-hand door before speeding away. The investigation confirmed that the bullet had indeed come from a firearm, a key detail in classifying the case. A photograph taken by a neighbour just before the incident proved decisive in tracking down the alleged culprit. Once located, the suspect was brought before a judge, who ordered him held in pretrial detention while the investigation continues. According to El Periódico de Aquí.
