Parc Sagunt relaunches sale of six plots next to PowerCo and Inditex
Espais Econòmics Empresarials (EEE) has reopened, until 15 October, the sale of six plots in Parc Sagunt II, after the first tender closed with no offers.
EEE's board, jointly owned by the Valencian regional government (Generalitat) and state agency SEPIDES, declared the two sale processes void — two industrial plots covering almost 200,000 square metres and four commercial plots adding up to another 112,000 — after receiving no bids before 25 June. The new deadline is 15 October. The land sits next to PowerCo's battery gigafactory (a Volkswagen subsidiary) and Inditex's planned logistics hub; Inditex already bought a plot of more than 380,000 square metres for 64 million euros. EEE chairman José Luis Díez said several companies were interested but could not finish the required detailed project plan in time, on top of the financial bid. Parc Sagunt was originally designed to become Europe's largest industrial park, with nearly 15 million square metres across four zones, but stayed largely empty after the 2007 economic crisis. The renewed push follows Volkswagen's 2022 announcement of its first battery plant outside Germany. Main site works should finish in December. According to valenciaplaza.com.
