Kike Torrent Renews with Atlético Saguntino and Targets 250 Appearances

Club captain Kike Torrent has signed on for a ninth season at Atlético Saguntino, the local football club based in Sagunto, standing just one match short of 250 official appearances.

Defender Kike Torrent has agreed to remain at Atlético Saguntino for the 2026-27 season. The captain stands at 249 official appearances for a club founded in 1922 that plays its home matches at the Nou Camp de Morvedre stadium; one more outing will take him to a milestone no other current squad member is close to reaching.

His commitment comes in the wake of the club's strongest recent campaign: under coach Guillem Beltrán, the team claimed runners-up spot in Group VI of the Tercera Federación — Spain's fifth tier — finishing just a single point behind champions Castellonense, before losing a promotion play-off against CF La Nucía 3-1 on aggregate. That performance represents the best showing since the club competed at the third level in Segunda División B across the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.

Torrent has described the coming season as a chance for revenge over the failed promotion bid and linked his decision to the newly opened season-ticket campaign, which seeks to grow the fan base ahead of another promotion push. According to Golsmedia.
