The Premios Literarios Ciutat de Sagunt (City of Sagunto Literary Prizes) received 242 works of prose, poetry and theatre for their 29th edition — a 65 % rise on 2025 and the third consecutive participation record.

The Gabinet de Promoció del Valencià (Valencian Language Promotion Office) of Sagunto City Council has closed entries for the 29th edition of the Ciutat de Sagunt Literary Prizes with a record 242 submissions, up from roughly 147 the previous year. Growth spans all three disciplines equally: 105 poetry pieces, 79 prose texts and 58 theatre works, cementing the contest as a benchmark literary event across the Valencian Community.

The poetry prize bears the name of Jaume Bru i Vidal — a writer and historian born in Sagunto in 1921 who served as the city's official chronicler for nearly five decades and received the Premi de les Lletres Valencianes in 2000. This connection underscores the prizes' deep roots in local Valencian-language culture.

Prize money has increased this year: €8,000 plus publication rights for the prose winner, and €5,000 plus publication for the poetry and theatre winners. Juries will convene in September and winners will be announced in October at a gala held at the Centro Cultural Mario Monreal. According to Sagunto City Council.
