Sagunto Closes June with Free Theatre, Two Exhibitions and a World Premiere
Sagunto's Municipal Department of Culture programmes exhibitions, theatre and the world premiere of Jat Jazz Bolling Flamenco across three municipal venues from 22 to 28 June.
The last week of June fills Sagunto's cultural calendar across three venues: the Casa Municipal de Cultura, the Mario Monreal Cultural Centre and the Auditorio Joaquín Rodrigo — named after Sagunto-born composer Joaquín Rodrigo, author of the Concierto de Aranjuez.
The exhibition Palomas por la paz (Doves for Peace), by La Tira de Dones, runs until 26 June. At the Mario Monreal, José Luis Armero's La imagen a través del agua (The Image Through Water) continues until 27 June.
Level 3 Acting Course students perform Llueven — a piece by Sergi Juesas with audiovisual and choreographic elements — on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 at 19:00, free admission. On Saturday 27 at 20:00, the tragicomedy Entre el cielo y la tierra (Between Heaven and Earth), with Toni Llorens and Caro Cancela, arrives at the Mario Monreal, tickets €7.
The highlight is Sunday 28 at 20:30: the world premiere of Jat Jazz Bolling Flamenco, a tribute to French composer Claude Bolling and his jazz-classical legacy. The show features flautist Jorge Pardo — winner of Spain's National Prize for Contemporary Music and a Grammy in 2020 — and pianist Álex Conde. Tickets €11. Source: Ajuntament de Sagunt.
