Sagunto crowns Empar Ríos and Maria Pozuelo as Fallas Queens of Morvedre 2026-2027
Sagunto's city council chamber hosted the proclamation of Empar Ríos as Fallera Major and Maria Pozuelo as junior Fallera Major of the Federació Junta Fallera de Sagunt (FJFS) for the 2026-2027 fallas cycle.
First Deputy Mayor María José Carrera presided over the official ceremony naming the new Fallas Queens for the Federació Junta Fallera de Sagunt's 2026-2027 cycle. Empar Ríos, representing Falla El Palleter in Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district), emerged as senior Fallera Major after a selection process featuring group activities assessed by a five-member panel; she competed against Carmen Cantón Manzano from Falla Vila de Faura. Mayor Darío Moreno announced the outcome on 23 May at 19:00. In the junior category, Maria Pozuelo of Falla El Romano took the title unopposed as the sole candidate. Their Courts of Honour bring together twelve falleras drawn from nine different local commissions across the comarca. FJFS Secretary-General Juan José Monge chaired the proceedings, with federation President Aitor Muñoz and outgoing Fallas Queens Ana Martínez and Noa Barea among those attending.
