Puerto de Sagunto Open-Water Swim Celebrates Its 10th Edition on 14 June
The Club de Natación Máster Morvedre is organising the 10th Travesía a Nado on 14 June at Puerto de Sagunto beach, covering 2,500 metres for adults and donating €400 to the Discamp association.
Ten years of open-water tradition return to Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district) beach on Sunday 14 June with the 10th edition of the Travesía a Nado, organised by the Club de Natación Máster Morvedre with support from Sagunto City Council. The milestone anniversary is matched by a charitable gesture: this year's event will direct €400 to the Discamp association, reinforcing the social commitment that has defined the race since its early editions. Around 400 adult swimmers and 50 children are expected. Adult participants face a 2,500-metre course — maximum time: 90 minutes — setting out from near the Plaza de la Concordia, reaching the jetty and returning to the start. The children's race follows the adult event, with a shorter out-and-back route to a buoy and no time limit. Open-water swimming has been an Olympic discipline since the Beijing 2008 Games, where the event covers 10 km; popular open-water races in Spain typically range from 1,500 to 5,000 metres. Mayor Darío Moreno and councillor Javier Timón presented the race today alongside the organising club. According to Sagunto City Council.
