Seven New Murals Transform Sagunto in the 11th Més Que Murs Street Art Festival
The 11th edition of the Més Que Murs (More Than Walls) urban art festival has added seven new murals to Sagunto's streets, bringing together local, national and international artists under the theme «El Mañana que ya fuimos» (The Tomorrow We Already Were).
Ten years on from its founding, Més Que Murs closes its 2026 edition with seven new wall paintings spread across the city. The anniversary itself shaped the most distinctive element of this year's festival: an artist exchange with Millau, the French twin city, timed to mark two decades of partnership. French painter Rafat created a new work on the Trinquet Municipal (Sagunto's pelota court), while local artist Mario Mankey will cross into France in July to take part in Millau's equivalent festival. The event — which, according to mesquemurs.es, has been turning public space into a canvas for collective art since its foundation in 2016 — brought together eight creators of very different backgrounds. Local illustrator Alba García, Parisian graffiti artist Takir (Plaza Germanías, Puerto de Sagunto), Valencian artist César Goce (Hotel Sagunto), Meyso from Marseille (José Veral pavilion) and Leipzig-based Paula Fraile (Piscina Municipal pavilion) added their signatures alongside Mandi, who worked side by side with pupils from CEIP José Romeu school. Beyond the murals, the cultural programme included a concert by rapper Mushkila, a literary debate session and workshops in rap, DJ sets, skateboarding and urban dance run by the association Let's Grow. According to Sagunto City Council.
