Sagunto City Council is organising the fifth edition of its Agricultural Technical Conference in June, with two free talks on citrus genetic improvement and wild boar crop damage for farmers across Camp de Morvedre comarca.

The Municipal Agriculture Department, working with the Official College of Agricultural Engineers of Levante (COIAL), has arranged two free public sessions for the farming sector. The first takes place on Monday 8 June at 17:00: agronomist José Cuenca will cover advances in variety improvement, new opportunities and the role of innovation in citrus cultivation, in a talk titled «Growing the future».

The second session on Monday 15 June, also at 17:00, is by agronomist Ramón de la Cierva under the title «Wild boar and farming: getting ahead to protect the land», focusing on crop damage caused by the species and territorial management challenges. Both talks run until approximately 19:30 at the Casa de Cultura Capellà Pallarés (home of the Fundació Bancaixa Sagunt).

Free registration is available by email at [email protected] or by phone on 962 655 885. Camp de Morvedre is a comarca of 271 km² comprising 16 municipalities and 102,642 inhabitants, with Sagunto as the most populous at 73,031 residents. Agriculture Councillor Ana María Quesada said the conference aims to give farmers practical, technical answers to the real challenges facing local agriculture. Source: aytosagunto.es.
