A group of cyclists will leave Sagunto's René Marigil arena on 6 June for a ~400 km round trip to El Poyo del Cid (Teruel), raising funds for the Anjel con J de joven association.

The Los Caballeros del Cid solidarity cycling route will depart from Sagunto on 6 June, heading to El Poyo del Cid — a hamlet of around 212 inhabitants in the Aragonese province of Teruel, mentioned in the medieval epic Cantar de mio Cid as a camp of El Cid Campeador, which also inspired the cycling group's name.

Riders will set off from the René Marigil arena, named after professional cyclist René Marigil De Mingo — a Sagunto resident from the age of 16 who was the first climber to summit the Col de la Croix de Fer in the 1956 Tour de France. The outbound leg covers 200 km; the group returns on 7 June, arriving at Plaza Cronista Chabret at 13:00 for a recognition ceremony. All proceeds — approximately €7,000 — will go to Anjel con J de joven, an association supporting children with functional diversity.

Sports Councillor Javier Timón highlighted the social value of the event, and organiser Francisco Sánchez acknowledged sponsors Automóviles Sagunto and Quatre. According to Sagunto City Council, the initiative grows in scale each year as a model for inclusive, community-focused cycling.
