Around 400 athletes from thirteen regional teams will compete in Sagunto from 29 to 31 May in the Spanish Olympic Wrestling and Beach Disciplines Championship.

Sagunto takes centre stage in Spanish wrestling this weekend, hosting the most important annual competition of the FELODA (Spanish Federation of Olympic Wrestling and Associated Disciplines). On 30 May, the indoor sessions at the Puerto de Sagunto sports hall run from 09:30 (heats), 16:00 (semi-finals) and 19:30 (finals). On Sunday 31 May the competition moves to the beach pier at Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district) for beach sambo (09:30-11:00) and beach wrestling (11:00-14:00). Top-level athletes include Carla Jaume — European runner-up and world third-place in the under-23 category — and Pau Gimeno, current senior Spanish champion from the local Club de Lluita Camp de Morvedre. The event marks the club's 75th anniversary and serves as a qualifying round for the Mediterranean Games. Beach wrestling was formally registered as an official discipline by the international federation in 2004 and has been contested on 7-metre-diameter sand courts since 2005. According to Sagunto City Hall, this edition sets a record for total participation.
