Sagunto's 2027 Falleras Mayores now have their full Courts of Honour
Twelve women — six adult and six children's representatives — have been named to the Courts of Honour accompanying Empar Ríos and Maria Pozuelo as Falleras Mayores (festival queens) of Sagunto's Fallas federation for 2026-2027.
The nomination period for the Courts of Honour of the Federació Junta Fallera de Sagunt (FJFS — the umbrella body for Fallas associations in Camp de Morvedre) has closed, completing the representative lineup for the 2026-2027 Fallas season. The adult Court of Honour accompanying Empar Ríos includes members from the fallas La Palmera, Churruca Avinguda Hispanitat, El Palleter, La Victòria, El Romano and La Palmereta. The children's Court for Maria Pozuelo is drawn from Doctor Palos i Adjacents, Luis Cendoya, Plaça del Sol, La Victòria, El Mercat and Doctor Palos i Adjacents. Empar Ríos and Maria Pozuelo were chosen as Falleras Mayores on 23 May after a jury deliberation, with Mayor Darío Moreno making the traditional phone call to announce the decision. Fallas is a traditional Valencian festival recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2016; the Fallera Major is elected annually to serve as the celebration's highest representative.
