FesCamp 2026 champions Valencian-language education through music and festivity
On the night of 6 June, the FesCamp festival brought hundreds of people to Sagunto to celebrate Valencian culture and call for quality public education in the Valencian language.
The FesCamp 2026 — a festival in Camp de Morvedre comarca dedicated to the Valencian language and culture — took place on Saturday 6 June next to L'Epicentre shopping centre. It is organised by Sagunto City Council together with the Institut Valencià de Cultura (Valencian Government cultural body), the Coordinadora per l'Ensenyament en Valencià del Camp de Morvedre, l'Escola Valenciana and PRO21 Cultural. The line-up featured groups including La Fúmiga, Abril tot l'any, Fades and Arre_ak, providing a soundtrack of celebration and advocacy for Valencian-language schooling. La Fúmiga, a pop-rock band from Alzira (Valencia) founded in 2012, has amassed over 150 million Spotify streams and announced its disbandment for 2026. Mayor Darío Moreno described the event as a model for the kind of culture he wants for the city — open to everyone and committed to the local language. According to elperiodic.com, the event cements FesCamp as one of the region's key cultural fixtures.
