Sagunto City Hall has officially received young player Suhaila Pérez in recognition of her contribution to the Valencian Community team at the Spanish Under-12 Autonomous Regions Championship.

The Sagunto City Council held a formal reception in the council chamber for Suhaila Pérez, a young footballer from Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district) who played for the Valencian regional side at the Under-12 national championship held from 1 to 3 May in Benidorm. The Valencian team reached the semi-finals before losing on penalties to the Basque selection. Suhaila was one of the team captains and a key player throughout the tournament. She also plays in the girls' Alevín C squad at Levante UD — competing in the mostly male Group 10 of the Segona FFCV league. Mayor Darío Moreno and Sports Councillor Javier Timón praised her career as an inspiration for young girls in the municipality. Levante UD, founded on 6 September 1909, is Valencia city's oldest football club; its women's youth academy competes in the Segona FFCV. According to Sagunto City Hall, Suhaila began her competitive career in 2021-2022 with Biensa CF.
