Sagunto plans security operation for free FesCamp festival on 6 June
Sagunto's Local Security Board met on Thursday to coordinate the security deployment for FesCamp 2026, a free Valencian-language music festival set for Saturday 6 June near the L'Epicentre shopping centre in Puerto de Sagunto.
The Local Security Board (Junta Local de Seguridad) convened in the Sagunto City Council chamber to plan the deployment of security forces and emergency services for the Festival en Valencià del Camp de Morvedre 2026, better known as FesCamp. The free outdoor music event will take place on Saturday 6 June in the area surrounding the L'Epicentre shopping centre in Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district). The meeting was chaired by Mayor Darío Moreno and attended by Valencia Government sub-delegate José Rodríguez, Municipal Police Councillor María José Carrera, and Valencian Language Promotion Councillor Patricia Sánchez, alongside representatives of the state security forces, the emergency services and the Municipal Police. FesCamp forms part of the Trobada d'Escoles en Valencià — a festive, advocacy-oriented gathering that promotes Valencian-language education. It is organised within the framework of Escola Valenciana, a civic federation established in 1990 that brings together 26 comarcal associations and draws over 200,000 participants annually across the Valencian Community. According to Sagunto City Council and elperiodic.com, the municipality views the event as a key expression of its commitment to Valencian language and culture.
