Sagunto City Council is organising its 21st Senior Citizens Cultural Week from 25 to 29 May, featuring theatre, a day trip, an internet-safety talk, intergenerational activities and a tribute to the city's centenarians.

Sagunto City Council's Social Services Department is running its 21st Senior Citizens Cultural Week from 25 to 29 May, aiming to promote active ageing and intergenerational exchange. The programme opens on Monday 25 May at 18:00 at the Mario Monreal Cultural Centre with a free performance of «¿De dónde venimos?» by L'Om Imprebís — a Valencian company founded in 1983, a pioneer of improvisational theatre in Spain and winner of the Valencian Performing Arts Prize. Tuesday 26 May brings a coastal sport route along Puerto de Sagunto beach and the 16th City Rondallas (traditional music ensemble) Competition. Wednesday 27 May features a National Police talk on internet safety and online fraud, followed by an intergenerational activity with pupils from FEC María Inmaculada school. Thursday 28 May is a cultural day trip to Requena for €23 per person. The World Health Organisation defines active ageing as optimising opportunities for health, participation and security as people grow older; the EU marked 2012 as the European Year of Active Ageing. The week closes Friday 29 May with a tribute to Sagunto's 2026 centenarians. Registration is required for selected activities.
