Bombers Valencia helicopter rescues collapsed walker near Sagunto Castle
A 35-year-old man was airlifted from a hard-to-reach area beside Sagunto Castle on the morning of 19 May after he collapsed while walking.
Bombers Valencia deployed a helicopter once it became clear that the steep terrain around the fortified perimeter made a safe ground rescue impractical. The aerial operation evacuated the man and transferred him for medical care. Bombers Valencia, the Valencia Provincial Fire Service Consortium run by the Diputación de Valencia, includes aerial rescues in hard-to-reach areas within its official remit (bombersdv.es). Later that afternoon, emergency teams located a human body in another nearby section of the same castle surroundings, in a separate intervention that authorities handled as a distinct incident. The castle, listed as a Spanish Heritage Site (Bien de Interés Cultural) in 1931, is one of the largest defensive complexes in the Comunitat Valenciana. According to elperiodic.com.
