Emergency teams find a body in rugged area near Sagunto Castle
Emergency services located a human body in a hard-to-reach area beside Sagunto Castle on the afternoon of Tuesday 19 May.
The alert came in the early afternoon, after someone reported sighting the body in the surroundings of the fortified site. The discovery took place on the same day that, earlier in the morning, a Bombers Valencia helicopter had been deployed to rescue a 35-year-old man who had collapsed in another steep section of the same area; both operations were part of the response that emergency teams ran across the day. The castle stands 172 metres above sea level and overlooks the coastal plain 23 kilometres north of Valencia, with a perimeter that links seven sectors built in Iberian, Roman, Islamic and medieval Christian times (Wikipedia), a layout that makes ground access difficult. No information has been released so far about the person's identity or the cause of death. According to elperiodic.com.
