Spring concerts open a busy cultural week in the town of Sagunto
Between 18 and 24 May the town lines up concerts, two exhibitions, a theatre comedy and talks from the III Mostra Saguntum ad Mare Nostrum.
The spring schedule of the Culture area packs several events into the week in Sagunto. The main weight falls on the two local musical ensembles: the Unión Musical Porteña performs on Saturday 23 at 7:30 pm at the Teatro de Begoña, and the Lira Saguntina takes over on Sunday 24 at midday at the Joaquín Rodrigo Auditorium. The III Mostra Saguntum ad Mare Nostrum cycle (a festival on the town’s classical maritime heritage) adds two talks: one about Venice on Wednesday 20 at the Antiguo Sanatorio Civic Centre and another about the women of Pompeii on Thursday 21 at the Mario Monreal Cultural Centre. Two exhibitions with pieces by Campus Obert a la Ciutadania students join in, at the Casa Capellà Pallarés and the Casa Municipal de Cultura. The theatrical close comes on Friday 22 at 8:30 pm with a comedy about housing at the Casa de Cultura, with tickets at 6 €. According to the City Council on aytosagunto.es and reported by elperiodic.com, all events are free or low cost.
