Fire at plaza del Castell in Canet d'en Berenguer: three homes affected, no injuries
A fire has hit three homes in Canet d'en Berenguer, in the Camp de Morvedre district, with three fire crews from Sagunto. Nobody was injured.
Monday 2 November 2026 began with a fire in the plaza del Castell in Canet d'en Berenguer, where the flames reached three homes. The fire service's report lists no injured people.
The Valencia Provincial Fire Service Consortium received the alarm call at 05:55 and activated two fire stations. Three crews, including a sergeant, left from Sagunto. A fourth crew came from La Pobla de Farnals. In all, four teams worked to put out the fire inside the affected buildings.
There is a gap between what was known at first and what is on record now. The first alert spoke of a fire in a single home, but the Consortium has since put the number of houses on the square that the fire reached at three. Anyone living in that part of Canet should treat that figure, not the one in the alert, as the reference for the incident.
The fire is out, and the provincial service confirms there are no personal injuries. That is the only closed point in the case. The causes have not yet been reported, nor how much damage the homes suffered, nor the time at which the extinguishing work ended. The published report also does not say whether any resident had to leave their home.
What the response does make clear is its reach: a Sagunto fire station covered much of an emergency in a neighbouring municipality of the Camp de Morvedre district, with backup from another station in the province. The origin of the fire and the state of the three homes are what is worth following next, once the Consortium or Canet's town council publishes them.
