Halloween 2026 in Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto: La noche de las almas, 23 to 31 October
La noche de las almas, the council's Halloween programme, runs 23 to 31 October, with a free Casa del Terror and terror walk, booking required.
Anyone who wants to enter the Casa del Terror on Friday 23 October or the terror walk on Saturday 31 October must book a place beforehand on the Notikumi website. Both experiences are free, but there is no entry without a reservation. That is the most immediate requirement of La noche de las almas ("The night of souls"), the Halloween programme that the Youth and Children's Department has built over nine days, 23 to 31 October, across the youth centres (casals joves) of Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district). It mixes alternative leisure, creative workshops, shows and themed horror experiences, and is aimed at children, young people and families.
The first date is Friday 23 October at the Casal Jove de Sagunto, which hosts Lluna Plena and the Casa del Terror together. It is an alternative-leisure evening for over-12s, from 17:30 to 20:30. The next day, Saturday 24 October at 10:30, the same centre hosts Magia para Muggles ("Magic for Muggles"), a free activity for children aged 7 to 12. Here too you must sign up first, in this case through the council's Online Registration Platform.
For those who would rather write than dress up, the second edition of the Horror Micro-story Contest is still open. Texts can be submitted until Wednesday 28 October, and only people aged 9 to 30 may take part. The rules are on the Sagunt Jove website.
On Friday 30 October the programme splits between the two districts. At the Casal Jove de Sagunto, from 17:30 to 20:30, La feria de los muertos ("The fair of the dead") is held for children and families. At the same time, at the Casal Jove de Puerto de Sagunto, from 17:15 to 18:00, Thriller takes place, a dance workshop for children aged 6 to 9, who are invited to come in costume.
The busiest day is the afternoon of Saturday 31 October, from 17:00 to 21:00, at the Casal Jove de Puerto de Sagunto. There the Proyecto Morfeo terror walk is held, with free entry and compulsory booking on Notikumi. That afternoon adds workshops, activities and parades, the storytelling session Aquells pobres fantasmes ("Those poor ghosts") at 18:00 and, at 20:00, a fire show by La Diabólica de Morvedre.
The format is not new. According to elperiodic.com in October 2023, that edition ran from 27 to 31 October: the Lluna Plena evening at the Casal Jove de Sagunto was free and for over-12s, and the closing night, then called La nit de les ànimes, was held at the Casal Jove de Puerto de Sagunto with workshops, a costume contest and the La Diabólica parade. That year the terror walk was for ages 9 to 17, places were limited and reservations opened on 25 October. This year's council notice does not give the age range for the 31 October walk, so it is worth checking the Notikumi listing before taking minors.
In practice the week has three deadlines: book the Casa del Terror for the 23rd, sign children up for Magia para Muggles for the 24th, and hand in micro-stories before the 28th. Notikumi places for the walk on the 31st are best secured early, since the capacity is reserved.
