ASECAM brings companies, vocational schools and public officials together in Sagunto on Tuesday 27 October 2026 to discuss how to attract and keep talent. The event starts at 11:00 at the Masía Mas Les Lloses.

The day of Tuesday 27 October 2026 will put companies in the Camp de Morvedre district in front of a problem they name themselves: it is hard to bring in qualified staff and then get them to stay. The Camp de Morvedre Business Association (ASECAM) has called its Business Meeting at the Masía Mas Les Lloses in Sagunto, at 11:00, and has given the whole programme to that subject, from training and professional development to keeping people in the workforce.

The official opening falls to the ASECAM president, Cristina Plumed. Antonio Climent, postgraduate director at ESIC (a business school) and senior-management coach, then gives a talk on artificial intelligence, new professions and changes in employment seen from the real economy. The rest of the morning is split between two round tables and the contributions of two member companies.

The first table looks at labour market trends. The speakers are Juan Ramón Benito, principal specialist at Randstad; Daniel Lloret, Operations Practice manager at Improven; Adela Pérez, CEO of Grupo Noa's, and Víctor Tatay, territorial director of Adecco Comunitat Valenciana. Amparo Bru, president of ASECAM's Labour Commission, moderates.

The second table deals with training linked to business. For anyone studying vocational training (FP) or looking for work in the district, this is the slot where two FP schools, an education complex and the university talk to the business community: Maite Marín, director of the Mas Camarena Educational Complex; Pedro Hedo, head of studies at CIPFP La Laboral; José Izquierdo, director of CIPFP Eduardo Merello, and José Alberto Conejero, vice-rector for Students and Entrepreneurship at the UPV (Valencia Polytechnic University). Ana Company, head of Guidance and Professional Placement at Florida Universitària, moderates.

Between the two tables, two ASECAM member companies will give their view: Esther Benítez, vice-president of Human Resources at Sonepar, and Juan Antonio Edo, Business Development manager for Spain and LATAM at Cosmos 3D.

The closing is in the hands of the mayor of Sagunto, Darío Moreno; the president of the Valencian Business Confederation (CEV), Vicente Lafuente, and the first vice-president of the Valencian Government, Susana Camarero. The organisers expect hundreds of people, including business, association and political representatives from the district and the regional level.

The meeting is sponsored by the Valencian Government, Sagunto City Council, the Valencia Port Authority (APV), the CEV, AGC, ArcelorMittal (steel mill), Caixa Popular, CaixaBank, Cajamar, Fertiberia, Grúas Rigar, Holcim, Saggas (gas regasification plant), Mercedes-Benz Valdimotor and Happydonia. Colegio Camarena Canet, Elecnor, Geocivil, Gonvarri, LEJ Automatización de Fluidos, Epicentre, LevanteWagen, Railsider, ESIC Business School, Provea, Zuvamesa, Transportes y Excavaciones Pérez Plumed and Digital Inter-Fax collaborate.

As for background, Valencia Plaza reported on 2 November 2022 that that year's edition was held at the Mario Monreal Cultural Centre in Sagunto and was presented as one of the most prominent business events of the year, with hundreds of attendees. The same outlet reported in May 2021 on the re-election of Cristina Plumed, head of ASECAM since June 2013, as sole candidate for another four years. And in October 2019 the association marked its 20th anniversary with the Asecam Awards at Sagunto Castle, with an external jury for the first time.
