Sagunto's Roman Theatre to host Afacam's 22nd charity gala on 23 August
The Afacam association will hold its 22nd charity gala on Sunday 23 August at Sagunto's Roman Theatre, with volunteer artists performing to raise funds for people living with Alzheimer's disease.
Afacam, the association that has supported families affected by Alzheimer's disease in the Camp de Morvedre district since 2003, is preparing the 22nd edition of its charity gala at Sagunto's Roman Theatre (Teatro Romano), set for Sunday 23 August from 10.30pm. Artists performing on stage will waive their usual fees so that all funds raised go directly to the association's care programmes.
Entry costs a €10 donation. Tickets go on sale on the day itself from 8.30pm at the box office on the path up to Sagunto Castle, or can be bought in advance at collaborating shops in Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district). Those who prefer not to drive can use the free shuttle minibus the City Council will run from Plaza Mayor between 9.15pm and 10.15pm.
For anyone who cannot attend, the organisers keep an open donation channel known as Fila 0, accepting bank transfers or Bizum payments to number 12370. The event has the backing of the City Council's Culture department and Teatres de la Generalitat, the regional theatre network.
The Roman Theatre, a regular venue for festivals such as Sagunt a Escena and Ludi Saguntini during the summer season, thus adds a charity event to its busy summer cultural calendar.
