Compromís and Chunta Aragonesista will file objections against the study that rules out a double electrified track between Teruel and Sagunto, joined by regional business association Asecam in defence of the same corridor.
Compromís's deputy in the Spanish Congress, Àgueda Micó, who has held the seat for the Més-Compromís coalition since the July 2023 election, argues that dropping a high-performance corridor is a political decision that hurts Aragón and the Valencian Country compared with other regions that do receive rail investment.
Compromís's regional secretary for Camp de Morvedre, Emili Clemente, is demanding a double electrified track for both freight and passengers, gentler gradients on the most difficult stretches, decent commuter rail service, and priority for passenger transport. Compromís will file its objections together with the Aragonese party Chunta Aragonesista.
Now joining that pressure is Asecam (the Camp de Morvedre business association), which also announced it will file objections in defence of the double electrified track, widening the business and political front against the ministry's single-track project.
