Solmarket leisure market moves to Puçol, near Sagunto, for the summer

The travelling food-and-leisure market Solmarket has moved this summer to Puçol -close to Sagunto, in the neighbouring l'Horta Nord district- after being turned away by El Puig over residents' complaints about noise and traffic.

The event sets up its summer stop in Puçol from 16 July to 23 August, after several years in El Puig, the municipality that chose not to renew it following complaints from residents about late-night noise, traffic congestion, and a shortage of parking. The new site sits along Puçol's seafront and features food trucks, live music, craft stalls, workshops, and a children's area, all with free entry and a family- and pet-friendly atmosphere. Organisers expect the new location to offer more parking space and better capacity to handle the crowds, though past editions suggest parking and heat will still test attendees. The market is not unique to this area: the same organiser, So Many Dreams, is running three other editions this summer in Elche, Castellón, and Los Alcázares (Murcia), part of a Mediterranean-wide expansion that also brings the event closer to residents of the Camp de Morvedre district, near Puçol. Puçol now faces a familiar local challenge: fitting a crowd-drawing summer event around residents' usual peace and quiet. According to El Periódico de Aquí, with additional details from Solmarket's official website.
