Compromís Sagunt is holding a public education discussion on 13 July at Casa dels Berenguer, which will also honour people involved in the recent Valencian teachers' strike.

The event, set for 6.30pm, will feature Gerard Fullana, a regional MP and Compromís's education spokesperson in the Valencian parliament (Les Corts); Maria Josep Picó, spokesperson for the party's council group and now Compromís's candidate for mayor of Sagunto in the 2027 local elections; and councillor Maria Josep Soriano. It will be Picó's first public appearance as a mayoral candidate. Invited groups include CEVCAM (a coalition promoting Valencian-language teaching in the Camp de Morvedre area) and the unions CCOO and STEPV, which played a leading role in this year's education strike across the Valencian Community. Local spokesperson Albert Oliver called the strike a historic milestone and called for more investment in public education, while also criticising policies of the PP regional government, backed by Vox. Regional MP Maria Josep Amigó and Més-Compromís secretary general Amparo Piquer will also attend. According to El Periódico de Aquí.
