School board sets local school holidays for 2026/2027
Sagunto's Municipal School Board has approved next year's local school holidays and will ask for one date to be swapped in the December calendar.
Sagunto's Municipal School Board (Consejo Escolar Municipal) has approved a proposal for local school holidays for the 2026/2027 school year, which now must be processed by the regional education authority. Under the plan, the non-teaching days will be 7 December 2026 and 17-18 March 2027. The board has also asked the regional Conselleria de Educación (the Valencian education department) to make one adjustment: turning 22 December 2026, originally planned as a holiday, into a normal school day, in exchange for making 16 March 2027 a local holiday instead. The stated goal is to better align the school calendar with the town's own festivities and organisational needs. The proposal will now be sent to the Conselleria, which has the final say on whether the changes are included in the definitive official calendar.
