Pirotecnia Lluch Seeks to Reactivate a Workshop in Sagunto for Show Preparation
The fireworks company from Faura has filed a request with the Government Delegation to adapt a facility in Sagunto that has been idle since 2017.
Pirotecnia Lluch, based in Faura (Camp de Morvedre), has opened an administrative procedure to bring back into use a site registered at cadastral parcels 140 and 141 of industrial polygon 5 in Sagunto. The facility was first licensed in May 2009 and went idle in April 2017 when its lease ran out. The intended purpose is purely logistical: storing finished pyrotechnic articles and assembling equipment before each show, with no on-site manufacturing of fireworks.
The scope of work covers a new storage building, reconstruction of the preparation shed, roof renewal, upgraded electrical network, enhanced fire protection, and a revised lightning protection system. On completion, the facility will have capacity for up to 9,000 kilograms of pyrotechnic material. Total project cost stands at €40,589.44, with a six-month construction timeline.
The authorisation procedure is governed by Royal Decree 989/2015, the Spanish regulation that requires an explicit Government Delegation permit plus a public information period for pyrotechnic storage facilities. The company has built a strong reputation: Pirotecnia Lluch has fired three mascletàs (daytime pyrotechnic displays) at the main square of Valencia City Hall — the most prestigious stage of the Fallas festival, which UNESCO declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016.
