Faura Opens Its Cultural Summer With a Local Musicians' Opera Concert
Brothers Manel and Jaume Pérez Ripoll, joined by pianist Juan Songel Sanchis, will perform on 28 June at the plaça de l'Hostal in Faura (Camp de Morvedre) with the show «Fent òpera» as a prelude to the Vicent Garcés cycle.
The municipality of Faura, in the Camp de Morvedre comarca, kicks off its summer arts programme with a free open-air concert featuring three musicians trained locally. The Pérez Ripoll brothers — a trumpeter and a trombonist — will share the stage with pianist Juan Songel Sanchis in a reimagining of classical opera for wind and keyboard trio. The event opens the new edition of the Vicent Garcés Valencian and Chamber Music Cycle, which will take place every Saturday in July at the same square and will include artists linked to Faura, among them Carmen Bosó, known nationally through the TVE programme «Aria, locos por la música». The cycle is named after Valencian composer Vicent Garcés i Queralt (Benifairó de les Valls, 1906 – Valencia, 1984), born in a neighbouring town of the comarca. Jaume Pérez Ripoll has been a member since 2021 of the JONDE (Joven Orquesta Nacional de España — Spain's National Youth Orchestra), founded in 1983, which has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Royal Albert Hall in London.
