CD Acero Renews Coach Alex Aranguren After Historic Women's Team Season
Alex Aranguren will remain in charge of the CD Acero women's team in Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district) for the 2026/27 season, following a landmark campaign that ended in promotion and a Copa Valenta semi-final.
Club Deportivo Acero and women's head coach Alex Aranguren have agreed to extend their partnership for a second season. The 2025/26 campaign was a milestone for the club's women's section: the team earned promotion to a higher division and reached the semi-finals of the Copa Valenta, a regional competition that recognises clubs committed to developing women's football.
The club highlighted work ethic, dedication, ambition and continuous growth as the hallmarks of the season. With Aranguren staying on, the project now looks to consolidate at its new competitive level in 2026/27.
CD Acero was founded in 1919 in Puerto de Sagunto under the name Sporting Club and plays its home matches at the Estadio Municipal El Fornás (capacity: 5,002). The announcement was made by the club on its official social media channels.
