The XII Tourism Conference of Camp de Morvedre (comarca surrounding Sagunto) concluded with a clear message: the sector's future depends on protecting beaches and natural spaces, prioritising quality over volume, and backing local assets.

The XII Tourism Conference of Camp de Morvedre brought together local officials, tourism professionals and sector representatives to debate the development model the area needs. The consensus was firm: rather than chasing mass tourism that depletes natural resources, the comarca should focus on attracting higher-value visitors who appreciate the unspoilt environment, local gastronomy and the rich historical heritage of Sagunto. The director of the Sierra Calderona Natural Park presented the Parcs initiative of the Valencian Government, aimed at developing sustainable nature-based tourism across the protected areas of the comarca. The Sierra Calderona Natural Park, declared a nature park in 2002 and classified at IUCN Category II, covers 18,019 hectares across 18 municipalities in Valencia and Castellón provinces and is home to golden eagles and peregrine falcons. The Camp de Morvedre comarca (comarca — a local administrative district) has 16 municipalities and more than 102,600 inhabitants, with Sagunto as its capital and main tourist draw. The event was organised by the Camp de Morvedre Tourism Consortium, according to elperiodicodeaqui.com.
