Sagunto's mayor, Darío Moreno Lerga, posted a bilingual message on Facebook on Tuesday 27 May calling on residents to vote with conviction ahead of the 2027 municipal elections.

Writing in both Spanish and Valencian on his personal Facebook page, the mayor highlighted his team's track record — citing international negotiations and a grassroots presence in local squares — and urged civic participation under the slogan «Somos de hacer» («We are doers»).

The post signals that the electoral cycle ahead of 2027 is already under way. Moreno Lerga belongs to the PSPV-PSOE (Partido Socialista del País Valenciano — the Valencian federation of Spain's PSOE party, founded in 1978). At the 2023 regional elections the party won 31 of 99 seats in the Valencian parliament, the Corts Valencianes, with Diana Morant as general secretary.

Moreno Lerga has served as mayor of Sagunto since May 2023. The publication comes as political activity across Camp de Morvedre comarca intensifies, with all parties beginning to shape candidacies and define their key messages for the next election cycle. Source: Facebook (Darío Moreno Lerga).
