Propeller Junior Valencia visits PowerCo's gigafactory construction site in Sagunto
The young business leaders' association Propeller Junior Valencia visited PowerCo's Sagunto site last Wednesday to get a first-hand look at progress on the future battery gigafactory.
A group of young entrepreneurs and professionals from Propeller Junior Valencia travelled to Sagunto to tour the construction site where PowerCo — Volkswagen Group's battery subsidiary — is building one of its three battery-cell gigafactories worldwide. The other two are located in Salzgitter (Germany) and St. Thomas (Canada); together the three sites are projected to reach a combined maximum capacity of 200 GWh, and the Salzgitter plant came online on 17 December 2025 (powerco.de).
The visit is part of an effort to bring the next generation of Valencian business leaders closer to the large-scale industrial projects reshaping the region's economy. Sagunto aims to become the electric-mobility hub of southern Europe, with PowerCo expecting to begin battery production at the site by the end of 2026.
Propeller is an international network of business leaders with a chapter in Valencia; its junior branch promotes networking among entrepreneurs and executives in growth stages. According to elperiodic.com, the visit is part of the association's activity programme for this year.
