The Federació Junta Fallera de Sagunt (the Fallas festival federation for the Camp de Morvedre district) has officially proclaimed Empar Ríos and Maria Pozuelo as its Falleras Mayores for the 2027 cycle, along with their honour courts.

The FJFS proclamation ceremony for the 2027 Falleras Mayores recently took place in the Camp de Morvedre district, opening a new Fallas year for the comarca. Empar Ríos and Maria Pozuelo will represent the festival for the coming year, leading a federation that brings together 30 local committees from Sagunto, Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district), Gilet and Faura, with around 6,000 active members.

Mayor Darío Moreno publicly congratulated the newly proclaimed representatives, saying he looks forward to sharing the many magical Fallas moments of the year ahead together. The Fallas of Camp de Morvedre were named a Festival of National Tourist Interest in 2013 — three years before UNESCO inscribed Fallas on its Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list in November 2016.

The proclamation follows the recent farewell ceremony for 2026 Falleras Mayores Ana Martínez and Noa Barea, completing the full annual cycle. According to the Federació Junta Fallera de Sagunt, the new representatives will lead all events from La Crida through to the cremà (ceremonial burning) on 19 March.
